    Austin Industrial, Inc. is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround, specialty, and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Incident Case Manager

     

    The position is based in our Spartanburg, SC office.

    Responsibilities

    Incident Case Manager involves coordinating efforts associated with managing incidents with all business units. The manager will function as a team member within the company Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) department, reporting to the Senior Regional HSE Manager. Working knowledge of OSHA standards, OSHA Recordkeeping standard 29 CFR 1904 and worker’s compensation laws is required.

     

    Project Responsiblities

     

    • Develop and implement safety and health programs, training, initiatives, communications, etc. to reduce work-related injuries.
    • Conduct audits to ensure conformance, compliance, and proper implementation. Oversee the resolution and closure of Safety related incidents.
    • Identify, research, and provide recommendations based on injury management data. Share best practices, corrective actions, and process improvements.
    • Be the technical expert for Injury & Incident Management.
    • At the time of an incident, the Incident Case Manager will make arrangements to travel to the location based on severity and interaction with Senior Regional HSE Manager.
    • The Incident Case Manager will work with company medical personnel, telemedicine medical personnel, and local medical personnel as needed to properly and entirely manage injury incidents, start to finish.
    • Will work with Senior Regional HSE Manager, Regional HSE Managers, and other HSE department members to properly investigate incidents.
    • Will work with Worker’s Compensation department as a liaison for HSE.
    • Work with Regional HSE Managers to develop and finalize incident reports.
    • Develop and administer incident response and incident reporting training for employees.
    • Present reports to company and customer leadership.
    • Produce communications associated with incidents (Safety Alerts, Safety Flashes, etc.).
    • Assist Gulf Coast region and remote site locations as needed.
    • Participate in HSE Staff meetings.
    • Conduct proactive investigations (before incidents happen) based on leading data/trends.
    • Produce weekly and monthly reports summarizing incidents, data, and trends.
    • Work with Compliance Manager to analyze trends and develop proactive action plans.
    • Stay abreast of changes to any applicable law or regulation.
    • Proactively travel Southeast region, actively seeking the best possible medical facilities and back up locations.
    • Actively develop relationships with medical facility personnel, company site management teams, and craft personnel.
    • Mentor, and direct other HSE Professionals on Incident/Injury Management protocols.
    • Partner with Third Party providers to identify and implement best practice.
    • Constantly research and provide ideas/solutions to improving case management capabilities.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent industrial HSE experience.
    • Minimum of five years of safety and health process experience required.

    • Maintain flexibility and work with changing priorities as needed.
    • Maintain cooperative professional working relationships at all levels (within Austin and the customer).
    • Ability to travel 50-60% required
    • Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance appropriate for the position.
    • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the US
