    Austin Industrial, Inc. is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround, specialty, and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing industries.  We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager for a customer in Borger, TX.  

     

    This position is responsible to lead company construction, engineering and/or performance contracting projects according to contract documents. Responsible for project safety, quality, budget and schedule performance, including subcontractors and vendors and customer satisfaction. Coordinate appropriate information flow among key stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of project from start to finish.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Complete oversight for the successful execution of assigned projects to meet corporate goals for safety, quality, budget and schedule, in accordance with our core values.
    • Manage projects, while leading team activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget, with quality workmanship. Responsible for ensuring the profitability of projects.
    • Lead multi-disciplined team of professionals to achieve project objectives.
    • Identify and secure necessary resources, support and information from corporate and outside sources.
    • Manage and coordinate safety and quality effort for the project, utilizing safety and QC resources appropriately.
    • Develop and maintain customer relationships with the goal of repeat profitable business.
    • Assist in preparation and review of project estimates with the intent of reducing project cost.
    • Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, financial objectives, and procedures for accomplishing work, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources during various phases of the project.
    • Establish work plan, budget and staffing for each phase of project and arrange for recruitment and assignment of project personnel.
    • Coordinate project design development, obtaining governmental approvals, and administering subcontracts and purchase orders.
    • Coordinate information and activities among estimating, financial and construction as well as subcontractors, vendors, government personnel and project superintendent, ensuring proper communication flow, utilizing project meetings, correspondence, and documentation as necessary.
    • Manage staff to craft ratios to assure unit work hour cost, safety, quality and labor relations goals are achieved.
    • Prepare project status reports, including updated cost projections and schedules for project review and input to marketing, estimating, sales, management and customer.
    • Identify changes in scope or differing conditions and secure appropriate change orders for project cost and time.
    • Implement company policies and procedures to identify and mitigate risk from Owner financial status, subcontractor and vendor performance (including subcontractor bonding and insurance requirements).
    • Identify and implement cost saving methods to reduce project cost using the work sampling process as a tool to manage those reductions.
    • Assure implementation of quality program is in accordance with project requirements.
    • Administer contracts in accordance with the project policies and procedures for the maximum benefits of Company and Customer.
    • Provide management oversight and direction to any area that effects or pertains to Austin Industrial’s reputation and overall success at this facility.
    • To promote and merge the processes of the current workflow  with new ideas that create an overall improvement to the way we get work accomplished. In addition, the site manager will constantly strive to obtain the customers’ overall satisfaction as their contractor of choice with the utmost sense of urgency.
    • Represent core values of Austin Industrial to internal and external partners.
    • Should have experience estimating new projects and changing orders, along with proposing them and performing a post-bid interview if required.

     

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
    • Five+ years of experience leading construction or mechanical engineering projects as a Project Manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

    • Ability to read engineering and architectural drawings and specifications in order to interpret a variety of instructions in legal, mathematical or diagrammatic form.
    • Ability to perform financial and mathematical analysis.
    • Ability to read and understand contracts.
    • Ability to manage a team, resolve disputes and foresee potential cost or schedule issues.
    • Professional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management and scheduling software, including online tools.

     

    Working Conditions:   

    • Office environment – extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
    • Construction site environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
    • Exposed to high noise levels.
    • Ability to travel 10-25% of time.
