    Austin Industrial, Inc. is a leading General Contractor that provides construction, maintenance, turnaround, specialty, and plant services within the oil, gas, chemical, power, and manufacturing industries.  We are currently seeking a Proposal Manager for our La Porte, TX corporate office.  This position is responsible for the development and production of priority, high-profile proposals, qualifications and presentations. Additional duties include coordination of interviews, award submittals, white papers, technical and creative writing for digital media pieces, brochures and advertorials.

     

    Our ideal candidate is a self-starter who can assume responsibility of redeveloping the proposal processes and execute the coordination of proposals and who possesses the ability to write, design, and produce marketing collateral.

    Responsibilities

    • Review and update the proposal processes to increase efficiency
    • Manage the proposal plan, draft storyboards and lead proposal meetings and reviews
    • Lead the creative process involving graphics and visuals
    • Work closely with the business development leads to create customer tailored proposals by developing a win strategy, addressing the customer’s needs, and creating a post-submittal activity plan
    • Organizing and editing the proposal/qualifications package to ensure content is comprehensive and client specific and in accordance with the Austin brand standards
    • Scheduling and tracking production of proposals/qualifications packages to meet deadlines and assisting in production efforts
    • Supporting document reviews, incorporates changes to document and coordinates document
    • Proofread and edit documents for grammar, spelling, comprehension, consistency and internal style standards.
    • Printing, assembly, packaging, and delivery of the final documents
    • Manage Austin’s CRM system, Salesforce
    • Manage the submittal for industry awards, local trade or national trade
    • Support communication efforts by writing brochures, white papers, technical papers, project summaries and any additional content

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism or other related field
    • Minimum 3 years related professional experience in marketing, business development or sales promotion environment, experience in the Industrial industry preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and customers
    • Experience with CRM systems is required, Salesforce experience is a plus
    • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change
    • Candidates must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective
    • Extensive knowledge of the Request for Information and Request for Proposal process in the industrial industry, including previous experience developing and coordinating responses to RFPs
    • Extensive knowledge of and previous experience in coordinating the preparation of qualification submittals and proposal development in terms of deliverables, schedules, and the coordination of information resources to meet schedules
    • Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
    • Previous experience developing and delivering training presentations related to proposal communications, proposal strategies, business development and/or pursuit strategies
