Austin Industries currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Sr. Accounting Manager in our Dallas, TX corporate headquarters.


  • Manages
    • Monthly accounting close process
    • Consolidation and preparation of internal and external financial reports
    • Annual external audit
  • Assist senior financial leadership with reports and analyses for CEO, board of directors, banking relationships and independent ESOP stock appraisers
  • Assist with periodic forecast and budgeting process
  • Develops and revises accounting policy and procedures
  • Coach and develop a staff of four to five employee owners
  • Function as subject matter expert related to
    • accounting software and systems
    • accounting research and reporting
  • Lead conversion to new revenue recognition standard

  • Actively work with business unit finance staffs on a wide range of projects

  • Lead process improvement initiatives

  • Ad Hoc special projects


  • CPA and/or master’s degree in accounting or finance required (CPA highly preferred)
  • Minimum of seven years' of accounting and financial reporting experience
  • Construction industry experience a plus
  • Minimum of three years' of supervisory experience
  • Highly proficient with Excel and Word
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Willing to perform a wide variety of duties and willing to work overtime
  • Proven people and organizational development skills; able to work smoothly and effectively with people at all levels of the organization
