Austin Systems Group is currently seeking a Special Systems Project Manager for projects in Salt Lake City, UT. Duties

The Special Systems Project Manager is responsible for constructability reviews, project management and coordinating end user groups on technology projects and multi-discipline projects that include technology.   The Special Systems Project Manager is expected to be a subject matter expert, who, through the demonstration of strong leadership, communication and project management skills effectively integrates technology scopes on selected projects.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technology related construction efforts that meet the company’s constructability, quality, financial and technical standards.
  • Technical expertise related to design assist, installation network integration of complete and related systems, including but not limited to:
  • Structured Cabling, Pathways & Cable Tray (voice/data, racks/frames, cabling/cable management & connections, etc.)
      • Voice & Data Communications Systems (dictation, intercom, telephone, etc.)
      • Audio Visual Communications Systems
        • Distributed Communications & Monitoring Systems (overhead paging/audio, public address, sound masking, CATV, intercom, emergency call, GPS/wireless clock systems, time & attendance clock systems, antenna systems.
        • Electronic Safety & Security (access control & intrusion detection, infant security)
      • Electronic/Video Surveillance Systems
      • Electronic Detection & Alarm Systems
      • Electronic Monitoring & Control Systems
      • LAN/WAN & Wireless Systems (including IP systems integration)
      • Nurse Call Systems
      • Low Voltage Applications
      • Distributed Antenna Systems
      • Integration with Building Automation System (BAS), Fire Alarm and other network systems.
  • Project management of the technology consulting process between Austin Systems Group and client/owner’s consultants and contractors.
  • Manage budgets related to assigned projects.
  • Serve as a technology resource across the organization.
  • Build and manage client relationships.
  • Manage budgets, schedule, profit, staffing projections, billing and collections relating to assigned projects.
  • As part of the project master schedule develops and manage a project plan & schedule to identify tasks, resources and timing to achieve project objectives (scope, schedule, cost, quality).
  • Track and report progress on the achievement of project milestone(s) with team members, stakeholders and team leaders.
  • Communicate, track and resolve issues in an effective and prompt manner throughout the life of the project.
  • Effectively manage project scope, ensuring that contracts and all changes are documented and approved prior to starting the work.
  • Effectively manage consultants or contractors.
  • Responsible for oversight of, and adherence to, company's constructability reviews and technical standards.
  • Determine how results will be measured and complete a post-project evaluation of performance to plan.
  • Ensure that all project documents are properly managed and archived upon project completion.
  • Maintain 100% reimbursability.
  • Travel required to provide project support.

Qualifications

  • 7 -10 years’ experience in Information Technology (IT) related systems.
  • 7+ years’ experience working with architects and owners
  • 5+ years project management experience
  • BA/BS degree from accredited College or University
  • Prefer experience with Structured Cabling and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
  • RCDD, CCNA, or other related technology certification
  • Member of BICSI organization preferred
